So there was a thread about this sometime back (http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=20345) that suggested Tapir as a possible non-toxic shoe polish, but it had the drawback of containing ammonia. When I tried searching for the product online I could never find it, just mention of it. Some people expressed interest in finding a safer shoe polish while (most) others did not seem to care a great deal. In all fairness, it is probably fine to wear gloves and polish your shoes in a well ventilated area. However, in this day and age, you would think that ONE company could come out with a safer shoe polish. Heaven forbid your kids or pets get into the stuff.

In short I came across this product and thought people might like to see. In contains "beeswax (protects), carnauba wax (gives shine), castor oil (nourishes), and citrus oil solvent (cleans)." The product is seen here:

I thought the cirtus oil solvent was some ambiguous term for a likely toxic ingredient, but searching for it brings up:

I would not recommend drinking the stuff, but it seems like an improvement.

What are peoples thoughts? Has anyone found a shoe polish they deem to be good and non-toxic?

I suppose we've run out of other topics to talk about.

Once I stopped eating it or going as Al Jolson for Halloween my problems stopped. I suggest the same for you.

Every single house probably contains 20 things that are much more dangerous than any shoe polish, I just use Saphir or whatever and have never felt I needed to even bother with a well ventilated area, there are zero noticeable fumes of any kind.

I mean, this is a very peculiar thing to even think of worrying about. What do you do if you've got a blocked drain or something? Bleach or drain cleaner or pretty much any sort of household cleaning product will be a hundred times more toxic than any shoe polish.
