Damn, that does sound good.

Scrambled eggs.

For each egg, add one level teaspoonful of shaved Parmesan cheese and a pinch of nutmeg. A little cracked pepper to taste, and you have a nice cool-weather breakfast.

I think with all the comments on the spinach, lasagna, pasta sauces, and potatoes all are referring to bechamel sauce. Unless it isn't. . .

I think so, except for the one with the butter.

I think nutmeg goes well with certain fishes, especially whitefish. I use it in seafood roulade.

My wife swears by freshly ground nutmeg added to mashed potatos.

Wow, after reading this I went on Erowid to look it up, some of the trip reports are crazy. Apparently the effects routinely last for 24-30 hours or more...

I couldn't imaging the gastric distress and the unpleasant after-effects this would cause.

When you are in prison, that is a small concern compared to the break from the routine nutmeg provides.

I wonder if these hallucinations are the genesis for "tossing salad"?

I usually add some freshly grated nutmeg to potato or cauliflower gratins.
Last week I made some tortelloni filled with fresh ricotta and served with sage butter. Nutmeg was added to the filling.
A couple of weeks ago I used nutmeg while making Involtini di Melanzane (eggplant stuffed with ricotta). Nowadays, whenever I make something that uses season heated cream or ricotta I consider adding some nutmeg as well.

Oh another thing, in prison, there is often plenty going on near that end of the food system. Maybe that issue is better addressed in the "where did you lose you ..... thread?"
