1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Zilch for me, still holding strong: although my mom did pledge a pair of birthday shoes for me to be forthcoming (assume this doesn't count against me for the NPC :) )

Does attempting to dye a pair of old beige chinos count as clothing maintenance? I have way too many pairs of beige chinos (these seem to the only decent ones I find when thrifting) and was thinking of dyeing a couple of pairs. Don't worry, I won't be doing this to my Brioni chinos, but I do have a couple of 100% cotton department store branded chinos that I think would benefit from being dyed blue or brown.

Sure does! Take before and after shots and post 'em here later. Personally, I would not recommend home dyeing. Oh it works alirght but the dye will bleed for the next 20 washings and ruin other things. My advice, do not engage. Perhaps start a new thread on this subject. I would like to see if anyone has a solution to home dyeing clothes successfully.

I tried to do a no purchase lurk as a trial run even though most of my purchases are thrifted. I made it halfway through the month but then I found a PRL cotton sport coat in XL that I plan to flip so I wasn't too concerned but then I walked up to a pair of chocolate suede bals (Club Room but I've been looking for months and they don't even need heels) for $6 and today a perfect condition Lands' End / Direct Merchant tan corduroy blazer for $10.

I am weak. Flagellation to commence soonest.

Failed. Saw some Bill's Khakis on sale and had to do it, as I'd just gotten an unreasonable amount of pen ink all over my last go-to pair of khakis (Incotex, no less). I am hopeless.

http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod676705 I think these are the best combo for running and lifting as long as you are under 200lbs. Low profile enough to not roll your ankle while squatting or dead lifting, but stable enough to run in. If you're heavier they probably don't have enough support for the running. Work great for me at 180, no so well for my friend at 240.

Edit: Luckily they never go on sale, so they'll be the same price after this month. :D

I had to do some wheel alignment. That took care of about half of that sum. :)

You crazy kids and your hip street lingo. Why not just call sex "sex"?

    Meanwhile,

Here's my $16 footwear/cord purchase. Did I spend it well? I'll back out of the thread quietly now.

Oh yeah...the Chinese shades were in the $2 basket. I disinfected them well.

No. The cord sc (39R) was $10. The shoes (10.5) were $6. Total spent: $16. Not including the $2 shades.

MoL's gonna be pi$$ed that I'm effing around in his thread.

That's a great way to spend $10. At that price, I'd pick them up just to have something I could mess up and not care about.
