It's in the photos. Scroll through them and you'll see the size chart.

Much appreciated.

One size short, XXL would do it though.

Enjoy all.

INIS MEAIN - NEW ARAN SWEATER PRE-ORDER FW17

Amazing new sweater developed by Inis Meain in collaboration with Sphere One. The construction, details, choice of materials, are all way beyond what we've seen so far. The bulls wool (lanolin lambswool) patching is done by hand.

The centre piece of the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection is the New Aran Fisherman’s sweater — The result of a collaboration with Sphere One.

The tradition of the Aran workwear sweater where island women folk knitted sweaters for their fishermen husbands and family is well known. For this collection Inis Meáin challenged Lucy Downes of Sphere One, a modern knit design label, to come up with a new Aran. While the intricate cabling of traditional Aran has been often copied, she felt that what made the original Aran so special was caring aspect of making a piece of clothing for a loved one, to provide warmth, protection and comfort, knowing their needs out fishing.

Sphere One focused on what Inis Meáin could do today to advance the comfort that a knitter in the 1950’s might not have been able to achieve. The piece, technically challenging to knit and construct, is a truly original new Aran befitting a hard-working fisherman today.

The result is a high back neck, not a hoodie, which would restrict critical visibility, lined with cashmere for warmth at an exposed area. It features a light underarm gusset with pointelles for aeration in extra soft cashmere fabric, which could be replaced by the knitter more easily than reknitting an entire garment. It’s seams and label to the outside for comfort and reduced friction. At the neck area, prone to wetting in inclement weather, is a shoulder yoke in oiled (lanolin) wool as well as an extra padded protection for the forearm when pulling lobster pots.

The New Aran Fisherman’s is offered with and without the heavy oiled yoke and forearm patches and in high-vis contrasting cashmere gussets and neck lining as well as more tonal colours.

We are offering those for pre-orders in 6 color combinations + option to do solid color (no accent color)

Sizing is very much TTS for Inis Meain - the Medium sample measures

  • Length: 69 cm but the neck goes up high, so hard to compare with a crew - feels very much TTS.

We've received about half of the styles. We're waiting for the other half, including the long sleeve pique shirts. We also heard that two styles got cancelled (Canclini Mustique) so we will need to refund those deposits.

Sizing guidance

As a general rule, we caution anyone who has not had the chance to try on the Sartoria Formosa cut and size it properly, against ordering anything made to order. That said, if you want to go ahead and are not sure of your size, here is some general guidance & measurements (there will ALWAYS be some variation). In addition, we strongly suggest to engage in a sizing discussion here or in the No Man affiliate thread with other Formosa customers, as you will surely be able to get good feedback from others with a similar build

Yes completely different. The shark skin is a worsted. The tick weave is a flannel. The pick-and-pick pattern on the sharkskin is quite small, the nailhead-like pattern on the flannel is larger in scale
