I don't know anything at all about the brand. How are they? Should I get a Reagan watch instead?

I was thinking the same, normally I'm now a fan of really big watches, although this seems to be the exception. I like the tide function as I'm a fisherman.

I believe this has a recording function built in.

I had a stainless steel nixon time teller, It lasted about a year. It became about 10 mins slow, and pieces of the band fell off. I should also mention that it was the cheapest model(100 bucks), I'm sure the more expensive models are better, although I don't think I will ever buy a nixon again. The better models are a few thousand, so... why not buy an omega, tag...etc.

^^^ I have had a better experience. I picked up the Capital and it has been a great beater watch. After about 3 years it's humming along without problems and few marks. Compared with other quartz watches in it's price range (eg Diesel and so on) I think it's a good choice. I also have received lots of compliments on it, more than any other watch.

Most watch geeks would agree though that you save up for something better. In fact after buying my first mechanical watch, the Nixon gets little use. I still wear it from time to time.

In terms of $100, I would rather go with a Seiko than a Nixon.

Nixon is the Walmart of watches to watch snobs. Go with Casio G-Shocks if you want to do cheap and street and Seiko cheap and dress.

I overheard someone saying "My girlfriend finally got me the new Noxin watch I've always wanted", looked and saw he was wearing it upside down.

Goes to show the kind of people who wear them.

Did this guy also have his ball cap on sideways? They sell them in most snow boarding shops. Conclude what you like from that, they do have a unique look though.

This brand is marketed towards the skateboard/snowboard crowd.

One does not need to be a watch snob and pay thousands but 95% of watches sold in department stores and non jewellery stores that cost under $200 are only worth about $25.

For $100 go with a Seiko, Citizen or Casio as mentioned.
