Hi all.

Just after some advice about two pairs of Air Jordans I've had for quite a while. I'm considering selling them but the worry of whether they're 100% authentic is at the back of my mind.

The trainers in question are - Nike Air Jordan Not For Resale 861428-107 and Nike Air Jordan Off-White AQ0818-148. Both have the Made in China on them. I picked them up last year in a charity shop and paid next to nothing for them. Is the made in China the giveaway they're fake?

Thanks in advance.

I guess the "I picked them up last year in a charity shop and paid next to nothing for them." is more of a giveaway. I don't see a reason why would anyone just give these 2 pairs away. Maybe if it was some super celebrity or athlete but I really doubt it. Especially the Off White pair that everyone wanted.

Not always the case, but quite probable. Regarding charity shops, I've had a crazy amount of designer gear that I buy to sell on. Only a few weeks ago I got a fantastic pair of Adidas Malmo for £30 and sold on for £150, that's just one example. You'd be surprised what gets donated. Got some nice Grenson brogues last year for £3.50, sold on for just short of £50. Thanks for your reply though, I think I'll just assume they're not authentic until I can get them verified for certain.

sure but you are comparing stuff like you mentioned to the most hyped sneakers in the world. every person and their grandmas are doing raffles and every **** possible to get a pair to flip super hyped sneakers like that, you can not compare that to some nice grenson boots or some random adidas sneakers that most people don't even know.

I know, I know. My point was, you can get all sorts of gems donated. It doesn't matter. I was only asking, I'll just **** off politely.

I'd be highly suspicious as to why someone would give away two sneakers worth thousands of dollars....run them through the "check check" app....I've never used it but many people swear by it.

As a stockx/GOAT newbie, how long would you guys recommending to wait before selling a new release? It seems resale is lowest the week or two everyone gets their order and then goes back up. Is genera rule of thumb the longer the better?

Depends on the sneakers and your overall objective. Unless you're doing this for a living or a major side hustle and you've invested in multiple pairs, the ROI for "holding" sneakers probably isn't worth it unless you have the most hyped of the hyped (Chunky Dunky, OW4s). It can also bite you ********** on occasion. I decided to hold my Travis 6s, and after almost a year, they still haven't even come back up to the price point they were selling at right after release.
