Sure, atm it's nothing fancy. I ordered a 8 inch Robert in moderate brown with natural edge and brass inlets, just like the stock boot. Need something in 8 inch and that's pretty rare these days.

That sounds terrific. There is a reason the standards are standards.

Hello @Nicks Boots Shuyler

Earlier in the thread you mentioned you could obtain different Wickett and Craig leathers. I already have a pair of travelers in Medium Brown English Bridle on order at the fit kit stage right now. Would it be possible to obtain Dark Brown English Bridle? I don't think I can wear medium brown in my office.

Would there be any additional charges? Longer wait time?

Thank you

Hi. We can definitely order a side of the dark brown and make a boot from it. It's probably going to take 4 weeks to get the leather, but we can do it for the same price. Just let me know if you want to do it and we can make sure they have it in stock, exact lead times, etc. Also, if you can confirm you don't mind us taking some product pics once we build it, that would be cool, too.

Hi,

The leather did darken on our test pair that were worn for over 6 months. The officer boot comes with a Vibram 430 mini lug, here is a pic from a prototype (which is why the tread is a little screwy):

So, you've got me thinking a little bit, and we could do a version of this with a block lug sole on the HNW with an 8" top and basically make it a new boot. It's be between the officer boot and the urban logger. If you're interested in something like that, we could build it for you at a reduced price (like 20% off or something) and use it for our photography and then send it out. I would love to do it in a new British Tan CXL tannage we have coming out. LMK if interested.
Wow, British Tan CXL, this sounds pretty nice. If 6" top is possible, I'm interested to hear more about it.

My guess is there will be a bevy of 6" options. I am very curious to see it as I kept kicking around the old chestnut / British Tan. There seems to be some variation in color for British Tan CXL.. The version currently offered by Whites is too brown (in my opinion) to wear the British Tan name but we all have our preferences and more options generally trump fewer options.

Other than leather choice, is an 8” Robert not just a Ranger?

Yeah the ranger has only the work boot leather choices and a logger heel. But that heel of a Robert is what I like.

You’re right, I didn’t realize that. What’s the difference between “Dogger” and “Logger” heels?

I’ve watched those videos tons of times, and apparently retained precisely zero of that info. Thanks.
