In exactly 14 weeks from the day I was fitted and ordered at the store in Spokane, these beauties were shipped out. Kudos for being dead on with the stated lead times. The fit is absolutely perfect. They make a very strong case for made to order boots. They are very heavy, but with the excellent fit, they still feel light on my feet. The break in hasn't been as tough as I thought it would be, probably due to the fact that they fit so well. I wore them for two hours the first time I put them on. The next day, I wore them for four hours before my feet got sore. Yesterday, I wore them eight hours straight and walked four miles in them and my feet felt fine. Two strangers have already complimented me on my boots. My impression: absolutely worth the money. For me, a person for whom Nicks was purely a fashion choice and not for work, I decided to take the type of boot I use most (black, mid rise) and have them handmade here in the PNW.

Some custom made boots do not include size marking. If I read you correctly your new pair is marked with the size 12E.
For reference, what size have you worn in other boot brands ?

Yes, the boots are marked 12E. I have worn a 12D in most other boots, but I now realize that I should have been wearing E's all the while.

Bought some Builder Pros from the in stock selection. Fit is pretty good, but wondering if I need to go up a width on my MTOs. Overall they feel good though.

There are a couple of areas that could be improved but they don’t really affect the integrity of the boot. There’s a missed stitch (i guess that’s what you call it) on the right toe welt and the leather looks to be burned on the left instep welt. Probably from buffing.

Overall, I am pleased though. And Shuyler and staff have been great guiding and helping me through this journey and being very accommodating.

First day of the break in.

What could also work nicely as a boot is the oiled latino. http://wickett-craig.com/leathers/oiled-latigo/ tan is a nice color and I've sent a couple of boots in latino, it is resilient stuff.
Just to quote me here, wait Latigo is an option? That looks great! Quite tempting to be honest.

The new Latigo by w&c is georgous. And would make a great long lasting boot in 9oz.
