We are in the process of expanding our Wickett & Craig veg tan section. Still a work in progress but have 12 boots up so far. We won't be announcing this more broadly until next week as we get more up but figured I'd share some progress with you guys.

I was about to ask when the new leather options will be available!

Quick question - is it possible to have #2 toes (rather than default #3) on Roberts? I am about to place an order with the milled leather option!

Very excited about the new veg tan options but have some questions:

1) what's the difference between milled vs non-milled? It looks like the milled has a light pebble texture to the surface while non-milled is smooth.

2) I thought one of the main benefits of natural veg tan leather is how the leather patinas and evolves as it ages. Do the darker veg tan leathers like burgundy and dark brown lose this unique patina quality?

3) how many ounces are these leathers, presumably they are all the same weight?

I just ordered a pair of boots and looks like i have to make another one. need stimi check . those are some gorgeous options definitely considering a pair. looking forward to patina galore. really love what you have done @Shuyler.

1). Yep, the milling refers to additional tumbling at the tannery for more texture and softness. I find this a little confusing now that I think about it as I believe all the leathers are milled to a degree but think this may be more so. I will double check.

Edit: Yes, everything is tumbled, the 'milled' ones are tumbled more and later in the tanning process for more softness and a slight texture.

2. These aren’t struck through so the natural tan will show through over time, so they will change as they get more wear. We have some dark brown boots floating around out there and will see if the customer will share some pics.

3. Yep, they are all 6.5 Oz.

I love the new Wickett and Craig leather options. Are the new options ever going to come to the MTO section? For example, I would really like to order the Roberts model just like what is available on the website, but I would prefer an 8" height and a Vibram 430 sole. Is this something that I will be eventually able to get? Or, is the current configurations the only way that they will be.

Yes, we will be populating the MTO color options with the new leather colors
