It's interesting that they're using leather. Carreducker has said in thier blog that they use felt or cork specifically because leather can occasionally cause squeaking and is stiffer/takes longer to break in (although the second consideration probably isn't a concern for Viberg).
Andrew from Dayton told me the same thing—some of their boots use leather, some use cork, but he's trying to move everything to cork to eliminate squeaking. Personally I'd prefer to have leather, and I haven't had an issue with squeaking.

I have a pair of Allen Edmonds dress shoes with cork, and they squeak like a scared mouse. I prefer the leather as well.

I have a pair of Allen Edmonds dress shoes with cork, and they squeak like a scared mouse. I prefer the leather as well.

They are squeaking from something besides cork. Dress shoes squeak for a variety of reasons, but the cork filler isn't one of them. The heel can squeak, the different texture of the leather lining against the leather upper can squeak at the tongue, etc.
