The Dark Lord of "health" might force me to do some sort of exercise. This means I have to venture out to a gym of sorts. I need a shoe other than an oxford to get there I would imagine. I think I am going to buy some Vans.

Careful, you might like it. I actually exercise quite a lot. In part, because I really like eating pizza and other delicious things, but mostly because I have too much money invested in my clothing and it would be financially ruinous to change size much...

Vans seem like a weird choice for a gym shoe.

I am a little confused as to whether he is looking specifically for shoes to wear to walk to the gym or for shoes to wear while at the gym. Those are different things.
