I remember a SuFu thread on doublebreasted cardigans.....this would fit perfectly with that conversation.

personally, I dont like the longer length on these. I think a doublebreast cardigan *could* look really cool but I'd want mine to hit shorter around the beltline and not button up so high.

They're definitely unique tho.

The Official Cardigan Thread:

The Nikolas K cardigan looks pretty nice, although I'd consider it more of a jacket than a cardigan, due to it's length. The double breast is a nice touch and the straps and buttons on the collar are pretty sweet. $290 though? Yikes.

If you consider it to be more of a jacket, I don't see anything wrong with that price"”it's still much cheaper than most designer clothes out there.

Hell, even (stupid) Trovata has similar prices and I can't say these two brands are even comparable.

Good point, $290 is a reasonable price to pay for a jacket, but if I were looking for a jacket I'd get something a little more weather friendly than a jacket made of cardigan materials.

The longer I look at that sweater the better it looks to me. I wonder what it'd look like fully buttoned, collar strap included.

Also to anyone considering it: as far as I can tell from looking at the catalog the model is VERY short, so the cardigan might not be that long after all… though it probably won't fit Get Smart's criteria anyway.

Like all Nicholas K stuff, that cardigan has terrific details, and the construction is terrific. The price is sort of high, but $300 for a wool sweater is not ridiculous for designerwear these days. I can't afford it, but... well, let's just say there are lots of things I can't afford.

A really nice layering piece, imo.
