Speaking of Steve Harvey I saw a commercial that Men's Warehouse is having a buy one get one sale. Now might be your time to strike!

Lapels are way too small. This is where a suit jacket becomes more like a cardigan.

Nice and 4 button suit should never be used in the same sentence, unless it is "it would be nice if someone burned that 4 button suit"

I've seen some pics on here of a 4-button tweed coat that actually looked very nice, so it is actually possible. Those pics in the OP though...are just terrible... Here's the one I'm talking about, which looks quite good, though may be considered closer to a 4-roll-3.5 than a true 4-button, and of course as with any coat the bottom button is also not done up:

The guys in the first picture are so ashamed they won't even show their faces.

Hmmm....I'm sensing a lot of ambivalence.

Okay, then I have a question - do you guys know of any suits that kinda look like a subtle vintage/modern mix? The more I'm able to articulate it, I'm really looking for a suit whose design is just this side of classic, but not obnoxious.

Thanks!

Pure costume. Start the thought process afresh.

Those suits are an excellent example of somebody trying to be "creative" with the common everyday suit and failing miserably. "I'll put a flap on the breast pocket! And pleats! And four buttons! And I'll press the everloving **** out of the lapels! I'm a genius!"

Despite the qualifier about the shoes, that's still probably a really good indicator right there to stop and think again...
