It did go through his arms but all you can do in that situation is hold your hands out, dive and hope for the best. The ball comes off the kickers foot too fast to make any adjustment at that distance.

You can't accurately assess the Packers' offense this season based on Rodgers being out for 7 games. They're lucky they made the playoffs at all, as would any team that missed their franchise QB for half a season.

Capers huge problem is he can't adjust to his personnel. His schemes were fine when they had Woodson and Nick Collins in the secondary, but now with significantly less talented players there are far too many holes and lack of situation awareness.

That ball was about 6 inches from him blocking the kick with his face.

When I saw him get the jump I thought for sure we were looking at overtime.

That scoring pattern was also true prior to this season.

I'm no fan of Capers - he's predictable like Wade Phillips, but GB's problem is on offense. GB's offense way underperforms for it's level of talent and the draft picks spent.

Nice win for the Niners. I'm pretty happy with the whole team, the defense did not give up to many plays and the offense stepped up just enough. Special teams was solid and the coaching good, just an all around nice game. I would have loved to win by 10 but on the road against AR in the playoffs, I'll take anything I can get.

Crabtree was huge. Its great to have him back alongside Boldin. Also nice to see Kap take the breaks off his run game, leading rusher for either team.

Same here. Can't really blame the guy, though. You get two hands within half a foot of the ball, you have a good shot of getting the block. There's just no way to know the exact angle the kick is going to go (not responding to you so much as some others).

The missed block on Dawson's FG doesn't matter, the Packers were offsides and a flag was thrown.

I didn't realize this till much later last night. Still would have made for some EXCITING football in the moment.

How would the offsides flag have affected the 0:02 left on the clock as of the snap? Do they reset the game clock?

I don't know if it's reset to 0:02 or the play is untimed, but it doesn't matter -- a game can't end on a defensive penalty

If he would've blocked the kick, that would've forced Phil Dawson to have to rekick in another pressure packed situation. Phil is a pretty good kicker and at that distance the accuracy rate is probably like 99%, but I doubt he would want to have to kick again right after his first kick got blocked in a season deciding situation.
