I have a bit of sympathy for RG. Dude played hurt until his leg almost literally fell off to keep the playoff run going. This obviously benefited Shanahan greatly - perhaps more than anyone else. And now he's being kicked to the curb?

I don't see how that's defensible Unless the skins organization truly is concerned with aggravating a career-threatening condition (no, constantly getting pounded by the defense doesn't count)

How is RGIII being kicked to the curb? The season is over, so get him off the field so he doesn't keep getting pummeled. IF COusins plays well, the Redskins now have the option to trade for some talent they desperately need.

Watching the news conference right now. Shanahan has snapped. He looks like he's about to bite your head off with that twitch in his eye :uhoh:

Because he still wants to play. Or am I reading it wrong? If you feel you are able and deserving to be qb1 and this happened, there's no other way to take it but as a demotion, slap in the face, kick to the curb, etc

well, terrel davis delivered the first, plus epic elway dive, and elway delivered the second. but that never would have happened under reeves BS coaching, so i give shanaham some credit.

also, i think he is a brilliant minded coach, but i think all the genius labeling got to his head and he has gone downhill thinking he can magically win without the effort that is needed. thats part of why i think his playoff record post the SB wins has been so epically bad. that is how i see it anyways.

strikes me as a huuuuuge doucher. but he reminds me 100% of a guy i used to work with, so it amuses me to listen to him from time to time.

well, yes. but i meant backfire as in shanahans plan to drive the season into the ground and "force" snyder to fire him.

RGIII and Cousins could both join the list of players whose careers were killed in Washington. Shanahan is escalating things because he wants to be considered for the Texans job given Kyle's history there. He is just as big of an ass as Snyder.

Come on, man. Bill Walsh has 0 SB's w/o Montanta, Beliicheck 0 w/o Brady and so on. And anyway one might argue that it was Davis' (behind the SHannahan zone blocking scheme that we have seen work in DC as well) that was the real difference maker in those SB's.

Anyway, Shanaham gets a big thumbs up from me for beating the Packers.

Or maybe you should learn not to take every post on the internet seriously?

I agree with you about Rome, but I am forever grateful to him for gracing us with this comedic moment:

Real. Anybody who hits Rome has my vote. Rome, IMO, was lucky. You don't mess with a man's name.

You'll note that Rome hasn't done anything like that since.
