I know, but I live in the bay area. Trust me when I tell you that the whining here would be epic.

Not that Green Bay can stop the run, but if Rodgers is hot, all things are possible.

Bridgewater finally made it official and declared for the draft. I hope he likes Houston.

What are the terms of the contract besides the 7 years?

Just saw that. I can pretty much guarantee that the Bears are overpaying him. I've been saying tag and trade him to someone dumb enough but I guess this is why I am not an NFL GM.

I like Cutler on the Bears. He's 1-9 against the Packers, a record which suits me just fine.

The temperature on Sunday in Green Bay is predicted to be a high of 0 with a low of -18. Lambeau is doing it's part to live up to it's Frozen Tundra moniker.

Good signing by Bears. I predict 7 consecutive Super Bowl runs.

Seriously though, I have to believe that the contract is going to be pretty team friendly when it comes to salary cap hit. As someone who lived through the "rex is our quarterback" years, this signing comes as a relief. While I am certain there will be controversial moments over the next few years I think that this signing will be looked back on as a good thing. Hopefully they can get the defense to average as that is the real problem on the Bears.

Honestly, I think people have very short memories when it comes to recent examples of quarterback hell, not only in Chicago but also around the league. Glad the Bears wont have to worry about that.

I think there's a lot of truth to this point, but I tend to be of the opinion that teams with average to above-average-ish quarterbacks overpay for this sort of security. Truly elite QBs are worth every penny but the guys below that end up getting close to elite QB money without delivering the same results. With only a finite amount to spend under the cap, sometimes I think finding a serviceable QB and spending the money elsewhere (defense, supporting players for the QB) can be a better bet. Baltimore, for example, is IMO suffering for overpaying Flacco.

flacco is super-overrated in bmore imo. him winning the SB was like a mega millions winning ticket for him. i dont think is near as good at that season and that SB made him look, and he very wisely cashed in ASAP.

Cutler is a top-ten quarterback and not the reason the Bears lost to the Packers. (Blame Jeffrey's drop and blown coverage in the secondary.) What do the Bears do if they don't re-sign him?
