Lynch ran for 4 on 1st and goal I thought. So I guess you could say 3 tries for 1 (or .5) yard too.

I'm glad NBC didn't run that replay a million times. In fact I don't think they ran it at all.

NBC also didn't run Baldwin taking a dump in the endzone which resulted in a flag. Lots of stuff we weren't privy to, it seems.

Again, I ask you football experts.

With about 1:06 left, and the Seahawks with the ball on the Pats 5, why didn't Belichick use his 2 time outs?

It seemed 95% certain that Seattle would score a TD. If so NE could have come back to tie with a FG.

Brady even said he was thinking that way, after Kearse's miracle catch put Seattle at the 5 with about 1:06 left, and the Patriots having 2 TOs.

A few of the people I was watching the game with even thought that the smart play would have been to let Lynch score a TD on his run, and leave Brady a minute with 2 TOs to tie the game.

    What did Belichick know?

He knew what happened the last time he did that in 2011. Leave the defense on the field.

Seattle needed a TD to win. Call timeout, let them score, and you have 1 minute to tie (and then maybe 50/50 in OT). I think you have to let your defense make the stop (or try to).

Had no idea it was that bad. The announcers really didn't get into it. The NBC telecast did a great job of keeping that very low profile. I guess the NFL told the networks to hide as much as the violence as they possibly could.

Then why not try to have it both ways. Use that TO after Beast's 4 YD run. Then if Beast scores on the next play, you still have about 55 seconds to come back.

You would still be trying to stop the Seahawks with your defense, but if Seattle did score, the Pats would have had a little time for a miracle comeback.

I think Belichick was as surprised by the pass as everyone was.

In 12 minutes, Brady scored more points against the league's best defense than had been scored against them in the eight previous 4th quarters combined. That's why he's got 4 rings.

Kearse catch was a fluke. Otherwise, Pats win.

I'm Rob Lowe and I have Direct TV.

I'm incredibly stupid Rob Lowe and I call a pass play when I have the most powerful running back in the NFL one yard away from winning the Super Bowl for me, and I have cable. (Hey, Pete. Don't be THIS Rob Lowe!)

Stupid call. If they gave the ball to Lynch, this would have happened:

I was thinking, wtf is that driver doing and why isn't he stopping? then I realized he was dumped into a driverless cart that had just upended him. great presence of mind getting blindsided like that and immediately trying to steer the thing
