Vick named permanent starter for the Eagles.

    Think it came from upstairs?

Vick named permanent starter for the Eagles.

Great news for my fantasy team. I just traded Rivers and was going to start Derek Anderson this week!

wow Vick starting is a big surprise to me.

AFAIK Kolb has the support of the offensive players and Reid. So they gave Vick the starting job for 1 quarter of trash time against GB, and one game against a terrible Detroit defense? Great move Pilly

This is really not like Reid to switch his position, must be outside influence

Why not give Vick a chance? "Starter doesn't lose his job to injury" is the dumbest sports "rule" ever. Where would the Patriots be if they decided to give Drew Bledsoe his starting job back instead of continuing to start Tom Brady?

    Tom Brady was an ex-con?!?!?!?!

Clearly, I don't care too much. Vick served his time and has proven himself in the chances he's gotten so far this season.

Eagles are not going to win the Super Bowl this year with Vick, and this move is probably the end of Kolb in Philly. This was a rebuilding year. They could have at least found out if Kolb was any good. All they did here was screw with Kolb and get a worse draft pick next year. Which is not to say that I was on the Kolb bandwagon. I think the Aaron Rodgers comparisons were ridiculous...ok, they both backed up star QBs for a few years. But Rodgers was a guy who could have been a top pick that fell to late in round one, whereas Kolb was projected as a 3rd round talent at best that Andy took in the 2nd. Maybe he would have worked out, maybe he wouldn't. I may be biased since I hate Vick.

i hate vick, too, but a weak O-line and a post-concussion QB don't really sound like a great combo.

No. Not sure why Reid didn't just say he was taking it slow with Kolb due to the concussion. No one would have blamed him with the state of the O-line. Could have easily gotten another week or two of watching Vick. If Vick continues to "play out of his mind", it's less of a blow to Kolb to leave him in at that point.

Why the hate for Vick? A lil' bit of dogfightin' never hurt anyone.

    I own a pit bull.

I'm supportive of his right to play in the league since he's served his time, but that doesn't mean I have to root for him.

I'm not going to get all emo about it and go pick another team to root for or anything like that. I will just have no rooting interest in the NFL until they get rid of him.

Have you considered supplemental income via dog-fighting?
