Thanks for the tip. The 16gb's are up to 4-5 weeks now, but I put in an order anyway, just in case. I can't seem to get a fucking phone anywhere, anyway, so its not like I have other options. The $15 2 day shipping sucked a dick.

I ordered one the first day it went on sale. Got it Friday of the same week. Ironically, ordered successfully with Internet Explorer 8. Another window with Chrome kept on getting the same trouble everybody else has had.

The non-4G/LTE is not a big factor for me as I'm using the t-mobile $30/month unlimited data plan. T-mobile doesn't have real 4g anyways, instead they use "HSPA 42+" which they market as being 4G.

    It's a nice phone.

That made me laugh. Ordered one yesterday and it'll be here in a mere 4-5 weeks. At least they won't bill me until they ship it. Should have some funds resupplied by then.

Does anyone know what Google's replacement/repair policy is for these handsets? I have a concern about getting them fixed if the glass backing breaks. At least with Apple you had retail stores nationwide to take them into and get them replaced or repaired. I'm thinking it could be a pain to do the same here since there is no brick and mortar component?

and apparently the glass breaking has been a problem. no idea what the warranty policy is. or who deals with that. upon doing some googling I see that they're charging a 15% restocking fee. WTF Google?

Edit - seems they're going through LG:

Yeah, this could be a problem. To be clear i'm ok with glass backing for phones here as I was with the iPh4, but getting these Nexus phones repaired won't be a good experience for consumers.

Really? I'm still considering switching and getting a Nexus 4. Crazy times we live in.

the warranty issue really scared me off. with apple, no matter where i am, i can just take it into an apple store. if i have to start fucking around with google and/or LG god only knows how hairy that'll get.

I bought 2 unlocked Galaxy Nexuses (Nexii?? ha ha) from the Play Store earlier this year. One of them had a radio failure a few months later. Had to send it to Samsung for warranty repair.

    Overall, a very poor experience.

Huge point for going Apple in this regard. I've always told people that as a plus when they ask me for my opinion on iOS vs Android.
