Dear StyleForum:

I will be completely blunt, I am something of a newcomer when it comes to the whole fashion scene. I am currently a college student, about to venture into the world of law school, and have taken as of the last year or so great leaps into the universe of men's fashion.

Although I do not have as refined of a taste as people like yourselves, I am trying to learn--and have already learned a great deal from reading these forums.

I have found that the Virtual Clothes Horse, and YOOX, are great tools, and I have started ordering various things off of both of them. Now, I do not have the funds to acquire a bespoke suit from one of the premier houses of fashion in Italy, but I refuse to settle with the pathetic clothes offered by the likes of Jos. A. Bank, and others. They just feel awful. Any company that can profit from selling a sport jacket for 20 dollars frightens me.

With that said, I would like some advice, I guess, on where to start. Where does one go about getting some of these suits you speak of. I live in Memphis, TN--I do not have the means to go to the clothiers in New York, or any of the major cities. What brands of ties would you recommend? What type of shirts? Would you advise me going to that JantzenTailors sight? Or something else? I am sorry for all these introductory questions, but I must say, these forums are a tad intimidating! Thank you, I will try to update my questions with the replies!

Cheers.
