Newbie question - suits with flaps

I saw a Boss suit that's very attractive, but the back of the suit is separated into 3 flaps (like with a flap in the middle). I've only bought one suit in my life so I thought suits are suppose to have backs that are whole, so is this an issue for formal circumstances (i.e. interviews). Please advise. Thanks.

Side vents are perfectly fine and preferred by many.

The thing you need to check for is, does it _also_ have a flap in the pants? Because without that, the flaps are purely decorative and don't help on the toilet at all. Good suits have pant-flaps (vox, bring up that picture, would you, old chap?). Cheaper ones only have the flaps in the jacket, to save on tailoring.

Side vented suits (or double vents as some call them) are generally seen trendier and more formal than single vent / centre vent, while no vents at all actually take the last spot.

I wanted to find a photo of those red pajamas with the butt flap for convenience but just ended up finding a blog full of photos of housewives being disciplined. So never mind.

I prefer side vents on my jackets.

Those things you are talking about are not pyjamas but full body longjohns. Without the funny bit in the back, getting out of those in a hurry could be problematic if you have another 3 layers on top.

This is the first I've ever heard of this "rule." Which iGent style bible are you reading? AFAIK, single, double or ventless is a matter of personal preference.
