    Hi All,

I am new to this forum. I've been viewing the various posts for weeks now. I feel as if I know everyone here (such as L.A. Guy, C.T. GUY, AlanC, Alexis and etc.).
I've bought an entire wardrobe and I am in need of some alterations. So you can imagine, I need an excellent tailor in my life. Any recommendations in the Los Angeles Area?

    Thanks

he does all my alterations now and has never messed up. he does take his time though, so if it's a rush job, i'd call him first.

Charles is in a strip mall on the corner of Olympic and LaPeer. He is the best.

anyone know of a good tailor in the Pasadena area?

i usually go to my local dry cleaner for basic alterations like shortening pant length but now i need to take in/out the waist on some pants i got off eBay and it looks to be a little more difficult.

    thoughts?

    -Jeff

Tony the tailor in Alhambra, on Las Tunas right near the corner of Mission Dr is great. has performed miracles for me over the past almost 10 years.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I thought it might be more polite than starting yet another new one. [IMG]

Has anything changed on the LA tailoring scene?

I could use a good person for some pretty heavy alterations, and a recommendation for a good bespoke maker, if there are any in the LA area.

    Thanks!

Caior Custom Tailor in San Marino California. They also make bespoke and MTM and have done fantastic jobs for me in the past although they are expensive. However 'Joe' will tell you how much it will cost and can explore cheaper options for you.

You can try the Andover Shop, also in San Marino.

I pass by this place often. Do they make suits, or just alterations?

As far as I know, just alterations. Parking's a b****, and things always seem very hectic and chaotic inside. Susan is great, however.

Charles the Tailor is great, I'll concur. Not cheap by any means though. I paid $240 for major alterations on a Borrelli suit. I was skeptical that it needed so much work, as it seemed to fit pretty well. He insisted the shoulder needed to be altered - he was right. The suit fit absolutely perfect after he was done.

I bought a brown cord blazer that I need the sleeves shortened. The jacket has working button holes on the sleeves. Do you think Tony would be able to shorten the sleeves & make working button holes? Also, would you know how much he would charge just to shorten the sleeves on a jacket? Thanks!

just to shorten jacket sleeves costs $20. As for the functional buttons, I don't know what he can/can't do for your jacket since there are a few things that need to be seen, like the distance from first button to sleeve hem, whether or not there's enough room to shorten the sleeve without interfering with the existing buttonhole....most likely the sleeve would have to be shortened at the shoulder, which I've personally never had him do so I wouldnt know the cost

I think I've seen this place when going to Golden Deli.

Still good? Anyone get work done here recently?
