Hi all! I just found this forum a couple of days ago - love it! Getting plenty of good tips so I'm hoping you can help me here...

I stumbled onto this pair of Diesel Zavor-J's in raw black denim at Nordstroms, they were only $50 so I grabbed them. There is no white coin-pocket-logo (although you can see the logo stitched in silver thread in the up-close photo)

To break them in I was just going to wear them a couple of days a week, maybe wash them once or twice - but after reading these forums I'm sure you guys have better, speedier ideas. They fit pretty well now, they could shrink a 1/2 size or so. I appreciate any suggestions!

note the silver stitching, you can barely see it

accidentally flipped the image, too lazy to fix it. The black raws with my Black 7 For All Mankinds to the left and Zathans to the right

black denim can be really hard to break in fade wise. the fact that they have a white weft (inside) helps ( vs your sevens which are black overdyed ) my suggestion would be to wear them hard as often as possible. if you want a decent fade delay washing for as long as you can stand it.

additional they will only shrink back to their original size but in my experience diesel denim holds its shape pretty well with multiple wearings.

good luck and welcome.

(p.s. i like the subtle coin pocket branding)

Just wear them as much as you can and wash them as little as possible. Ideally, wear them daily and never wash them until you get them to where you like them.

I have the same jeans in blue. They are actually a one-wash, so they will not fade or pick up wear line as quickly as completely dry jeans generally will, but if you wear them enough, especially through physical activity (great motivation to help your buddy when he's moving

) they will break in to your form.

They are nice jean. A little background info on them - they were initially designed specifically for the boutique Jeffrey in NY and Atlanta, and apparently Nordstrom Rack cleared them out after Nordstrom became the majority shareholder of Jeffrey stock.

Aha! That sounds about right, I'm in Baltimore, right inbetween Alt and NY and my Nordstroms (Towson) is the only one in the area with a "Rack" - where I found them.

I love that Rack - I check there almost every week and find tons of good new stuff on regular rotation while the main showrooms upstairs seem to keep the same brands, styles and colors forever!
