Hey guys!

I am quite new to the whole men's bag thingy. Normally I just bought some rucksack and hoped for the best. I just wanted it to be comfortable and being able to stuff things into it :)

I've been looking for a messenger bag for a while now and I have found some good ones that I am thinking about. I found one called Sandqvist Erik on http://aktad.se/stiljournalen/herrvaskor/ (it's the top one in the picture), what do you guys think about it?

It is dark blue with brown leather, looks kinda stylish to me. I work in an office and normally use jeans, a shirt or a polo shirt. Could this match my look? I tend to use darker colours and my shoes to work are brown and dark blue. I try to match the bag colour to my shoes as well.

Opinions? Is it a nice bag or do you have any other advice?

Thanks in advance!

There is a pretty good chance that is the bag I was carrying the summer before last. What you need to know is that canvas is not very colorfast - I didn't experience color transferring to clothes, but the blue definitely fades, and wear patterns will arise. I have a fair bit of flexibility in what I wear, so the casualness of the bag as it is increasingly worn wasn't the reason I replaced it - I am carrying a boat anchor Lenovo laptop with a ~15.4 inch screen that was just a bother to squeeze in there. Finally, the leather on the bag is not all that impressive, but probably to be expected for the pricepoint

Edit: didn't @EFV pick this bag up as well?

I wouldn't worry about matching leather color to your shoes. You're not a woman trying to match her purse to her shoes. It's a work bag, not a purse. I think the other posters advice is worth considering - I might be worried about the colors. Some colors look better faded than others. Also, with canvas, it's always a question of durability. You'll find the bottom and especially the corners get a lot of abuse. So, I would look at the warranty associated with the bag. Companies like Filson provide a lifetime guarantee. Leather wears better, so make sure a bag like that comes with a great warranty.
