Any recommended tailor who can do a <1 week turnaround time?

Alterations would include chest/waist slimming, collar lowering, and possibly functional buttonholes on sleeves.

Would I be hemorrhaging $$$ also?

I got a jacket slimmed down from 44R to 42R and my sleeves shortened at "La Mode Cleaners & Tailors" on 71st St. & Columbus. I found them after doing a search for the "best tailor in nyc" on nymag. The cost was about $70 and he turned it around in 3 days.

Bhambi Tailors can do it. I've had them do that and more to a suit and they were able to turn it around in a week. From what I recall, it involved narrowing the shoulders, slimming the chest and waist, shortening the sleeves, slimming, shortening the rise, and hemming trousers. They did a great job and didn't charge extra for rush service. But for what I paid, I think I could have gotten a new online MTM.

Bhambi is easily the most expensive alteration tailor in NYC. And they are always pushing their custom suits, which look like crap.

Wilfreds is slightly cheaper and can do the work, but I have never seen a jacket altered at the collar/shoulders that was worth doing. They typically all look bad.

George at Flormont has done a bunch of work for me. Decent quality for a decent price. Fifth Avenue and 17th Street - (212) 255-2549.

+1. I had a Canali 3 button basically taken down an entire size by Joseph and it fits better than any other suit I own. His standard turnaround time has always been about a week for me. He's not cheap (although he's way cheaper than Bhambi), but I've never gotten any upcharge when I needed something a little faster.
