I recently bought this nice slim cut black suit from Dolce and I was planning on wearing this for the NYE party but I really dont know what shirt to wear with it...what would you recommend? Links are always helpful thanks!!!

Also its going to be a younger crowd 22-30 so I was thinking open collar?

White always works. Otherwise you could try a grey/charcoal.

The only one that's completely unacceptable is the BR Paisley, because I think it's brown. The Etro Paisley is really wonderful:

But I can't imagine paying that much for a shirt that you can only wear occasionally. White is going to look the dressiest, which is appropriate for NYE. If you're thrifty, you'd go for plain white with french cuffs: why distract from the suit? But since you're obviously not thrifty...does anybody think an open-necked tuxedo shirt could work?

Actually that what I wore last new years. A pinstripe navys suit with an open collar french cuff tux shirt. Thats why I wanted to go with somthing else this time.

PS: True...that shirt is quite pricy. Does anyone know of anyone who makes cheaper shirts like that?

Thanks!

You've got a point: black and white could be rather plain. It's really a matter of personal preference. With a black suit, I'd go for something louder (like many of Etro's other shirts) than the examples you gave.

I doubt it, there's a reason Etro is Etro.
