The swan neck is one of my favorite designs. Sleek, modern and flows well with the U last. The cap toe is strictly for interviews and formal affairs. The J.M. Weston was a last minute save while on travel and the best the local Saks had to offer in my size for a somewhat formal black shoe. Before you bid goodbye to brouging, you might try a last flirtation with a blind brogue.

Here's medward's sublime Cleverley blind brogues, and dopey has a very nice pair from Davies as well.

The brown shaded, brogue wingtip is the selection I feel might still have a place in my armory.
