this is my first day on the website. All i know about dry denim i've learned in the last couple hours reading this forum. The first time i read that somebody didn't wash their jeans for 6 months i was disgusted. Now i realise the point of the whole thing, but I still have some questions.

1. If japanese jeans copy the levi's 501XX and charge triple the price. Why not just get levi's 501xx?

2. What's the reason for the difference in price in jeans that are both raw denim and selvedge?

3. I want to start with some levi's 501xx stf as my first project jeans, but the sizing is giving me problems. I have a seven for all mankind "A" pocket jean in size 32 that fit me just right and i want the levis to fit JUST a little tighter. what size should i get?

Last thing, can somebody post a link to a thread that explains the best ways to mess up your jeans? I've only read bits and pieces so far.

THANKS

Though I doubt you'd find anyone on here telling you not to get the actual Levis. Still the original jeans. Someone with experience will be able to tell you about sizing, a lot of which will likely have to do with whether the jeans are shrink to fit or not. Good luck with the first project.

The Japanese repros are not repros of the current Levi's but the original 1947, 66, etc..
