New to Business Attire - Should I Go Custom or Off the Rack?

I am just starting my career and am looking to build my professional wardrobe. I have done a bit of research between the two but would like a few more opinions before I make a purchase.

My budget max is $1, 000.

What are your opinions on custom and off the rack? Which places would you recommend I go to?

What career path are you pursuing?

What are you looking to acquire with that $1,000? 1 custom suit? I would not recommend that.
What do you currently have in your wardrobe? 2 solid pairs of shoes? Shirts? Ties?

I have a charcoal gray suit but was looking for another suit that I can wear.

What I am looking for are opinions on custom vs. off the rack and suggestions on where I should buy the suit that is under my price range.
