Anyone know how the sizing runs? I'm an 8D in most standard U.S. brands, like Allen Edmonds (I actually just bought a pair off ebay the other night), but I don't have any experience trying on most others.

I'd check the measurements provided. This seller originally listed these shoes as a 9 but they are marked to be an 8. They seem wide, at 4", for a D fitting. But I don't have any recent experience with this brand. Just liked the shoes.

These shoes are remarkably similar to a Berluti in their "club" line. As for the size, I think high-end Italian shoes are often marked one size lower than what the US size is. Perhaps it's the actual Italian or Euro sizing? I've got a pair of Lattanzi's marked 11 that fit as if they are 12 or 12-1/2. Also, as for the measurements on these, don't forget to take into account the generous length and width of the sole (which extends a good bit beyond where the leather ends).

Trust me, they won't fit and you won't like them even if they did - Oh yeah, they are also way over-priced. Trust me, you wouldn't like them. (I am also an 8 and the fact that I may bid ought not be taken as influencing the very helpful advice I am offering a fellow size 8)

I'm a US size 8 and I've got $2,500 burning a hole in my pocket. Anyone care to start the bidding?

kabert is right - if the shoe is labelled 8, and the picture of the sole clearly shows an 8, it's more likely to be a US size somewhere between 8.5 to 9.5.

This seller told me in an email that the outside length of the shoe was a total of 11", which is what he lists. He had listed these originally as a size 9, then he changed the description to a zize 8. I told him that the outside measurement of my size 9E AE shoes was close to 12" (measured with a ruler from the end of the heel to the tip of the shoe). Same measurement for size 8 1/2 C&J shoe If this is so, how can these shoes be the equivalent of U.S. 9? Please explain-am I measuring incorrectly? Thanks.

Nice shoes. They are from the 2002 Spring/Summer Tanino collection.

daytrader,

Would you elaborate on sizing of this shoe (and last if possible). I think we're going to shoot this auction up to at least $50.

Hi John,

I'm not 100% sure but I think they usually run one size or a size and a half bigger than it's European sizing. So if it's marked as an 8, it might be a US 9 or 9.5. Tanino does have a store on Madison ave. in NY that might be able to confirm the sizing and last as well for that shoe. Number is below.

StyleStudent - My apologies, I had not read the measurements before I posted my reply. I am a size 9E/EE in AllenEdmonds as well, and I have tried several models from TC in NYC. The best fits came from sizes 7.5, 8, and 8.5 depending on the last. The only pair I own is marked 8M and measures 12"x4.25". Regarding the auction, any one of the following may be true: (1) Seller made mistake in measuring (2) It is a factory second because it has been mislabelled (3) This model (or the market in which it was originally sold) follows a different sizing One thing is for sure, if you do win the auction cheaply and it turns out not to be your size, you'll have plenty of potential buyers on this forum alone.

Thanks, TimelessRider. I'm too concerned about length issues to bid myself (the seller did confirm the length measurement) but, with all the recent interest and discussion about quality footwear at a price on this forum, I'm hoping that a forum member will snap this up. One bid now at $35.
