Are the Darlton's brown or more of a #8 type color? How are the soles stitched? Thanks.

I'm unsure on the stitching, but they're definitely a brown color.

No takers? That's OK. Who wants sumptuous leather gunboats anyway...

the Darlton wingtips have no burgundy about them. They are a medium brown, a little darker than Alden's Cigar. The soles are pure double-leather goodyear welted...

Thanks. Just called the Chicago store and they have them in my size. Missed the extra 15%, unfortunately.

Does anyone know when the sale stuff will be further reduced? At some point the stores mark the sale price down another 30 to 40% right?

I just got confirmation of shipment of my Darltons wingtips, oh yeah

The brown, if same as the Darton penny loafer, is a gorgeous dark brown, no hint of any burgundy in it like #8, most closest to cigar but not quite. Unique, which is what I like. Made in England by Crockett & Jones, which does a finer finish on little details than Alden. All in all a great deal at almost 50% off retail.

I notice that the shoe has sold out.

Any pics of this shoe? Is it the same as the Marlow wingtip?

You can always try to find a guy who will honour it and have him order the shoe for you.

I used the 15% kick on Sunday, Wednesday and yesterday. In fact, yesterday the SA told me he was given permission to extend the discount.

Anyone else had this experience, that accepting the code after it expired is discretionary?

whoever missed out on the $354 Polo shell Darltons. I pity all of you.

this is perhaps the deal of the century.

a very beautifully shaped shell wingtip blucher, trust me, it is very lovely. the toe shape is not gunboaty at all , a la McClain or 975 Alden.

just the construction and the meaty hide. the shape and color of the shoe is wonderful.

i always looked at this shoe whenever i went into rodeo Polo and pondered when this $700+ shoe will ever go on sufficient discount.

it finally did.

hopefully for all you unlucky can find it someday on GVH as I dont think RL will ever get this again in stock. let alone $354

ever again

Haha shoe is really rubbing it in for those who missed out.

If it's any consolation, I ordered around 11 am on 11/15 and I'm STILL waiting for my delivery confirmation. It still says "located in stock". Might get canceled.
