I work for myself as a programmer and work really hard. I am a typical programmer. Fashion isn't my thing.

I have made it my goal to start dressing allot smarter and enjoying the money I make. I love fashion but things always look so much better on other people.

I'm 30, skinny white guy at just over 6ft. I'm a typical shorts and t or jeans and polo kind of guy.

I went out and got a new pair of sneakers on the weekend and really liked the unique design of these Louis Vuittons. I quickly exited the store with them. The shoes can be seen here https://au.louisvuitton.com/eng-au/products/run-away-sneaker-nvprod680067v

I didn't really think about what to wear with them as I focused on the shoe. Not what would go with the shoe.

I am meant to go out to the Versace on the gold coast Australia and have been told its just casual smart. I wanted to wear these sneakers as they are suitable for the place and casual. However what to wear with them? ? Blue denim jeans and a polo I thought. Ew the blue does not go at all. . .

Has anyone got any suggestions. Keep in mind this is qld Australia and it's hot and humid. Shorts actually go quite well with these which I didn't think they would.

I am stuck though for ideas. My fashion sense sucks. :(

They are certainly unique, but incredibly hard to pair as it looks like they are a mix of white with black and brown. You probably need to have some other really basic pieces and pick up on colors in the shoe e.g. plain white/black polo with shorts; maybe some slim black denim for pants?

Honestly they are not a very versatile shoe. I'm sure you've worked hard and in the effort to try and dress better you thought (perhaps) the logo pieces would instantly make them something stylish, however most people on this forum wouldn't recommend them as a good option. Heck, I'm young and don't hate logos like most folks here and even I would not have directed you towards those. Hopefully we can provide some good advice for what you'd like to achieve.

I think papado has given some really sound advice. I have to admit that I'm absolutely not into logo clothing because I sometimes feel they "scream" too loud of the need to be observed without really offering what the eye of most beholders really admire: true and effortless style that catches your eye without a single print denoting a garments price.

Nonetheless, I'm not here to educate people on my opinions, but to help as far as I can and if you really fell in love with thise shoes and can't get them out of your mind (this happens to all of us with all kinds of crazy garments; if this is not the case, skip them), then buy them as I'm sure some day you may regret not having done so.

So, here are the pairing options IMO: pick one of the colors in the shoe (I'd take the off-white) and choose a chino or jeans in that color. Your (T-)shirt or polo can then either pick up one of the other colors in the shoe (e.g. the brown or dark grey) or pick a complimentary color like navy blue. Whilst blue jeans will probably work too (in which case you must pick up one of the three colors of the shoe in your shirt to integrate them properly), the aforementioned combination will look far more striking.

Congratulations on your purchase! I love them. I would not wear them myself (my own insecurity) but I can tell a thing of beauty when I see one.

Anyway, if they were mine I would pair them with either a) blue jeans (light wash), b) Brunello Cucinelli ankle corduroy trousers in the color C1138 (google "182ME234E1870", mine have no thigh pockets though), or c) potentially grey wool pants.

Since money does not seem to be a concern for you, I would advise you to visit your local Brunello Cucinelli and see if you can find some nice corduroy trousers. Esp. their ankle models are fabulous. I never thought I'd wear them, but after getting myself a pair I think I'll make them my default summer pants (I live in Europe). They are fabulously comfortable (the cotton is heaven-soft), loosened around hips and thighs (so that sitting does not expand the rear area - problem with denim and esp. corduroy).

If I had these shoes, I would probably go pretty conservative on the rest of the body (single colors, a shirt) to tame the overall effect. A playful top and you'll look like Don Cherry.

Just a pair of slim blue jeans and a simple white t shirt. Keep it simple! Maybe a lightweight jacket like a bomber or blouson would work, too.

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate the help.

I'll head out tomorrow and see what I can find based on what some suggested.

Depends on what look you want to create. The trainers have muted colors such as anthracite and brown in them, so with a pair of light chinos/jeans this definitely can work. I know that most people pair safari jackets in the classic way with suede shoes, but who says you need to do what everybody does (wearing these shoes is a clear statement against mainstream in itself)

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
