i'd pass on it. it does look too snug. you also mentioned that you're wearing a linen coat underneath. try swapping it for a regular wool suit jacket. i'm sure you'll find it even snugger. overcoats aren't meant to be overly snug. not unless you're wearing them as your only top layer -- say, directly over a shirt.

some day, very likely in the near future, another perfect overcoat that's really in your size will come along, and this one will then promptly be mothballed. so i'd say save yourself the impulse buy and hold out for perfection. because, y'know, life's too short for anything but. and you're already doubting yourself -- that's the acid test.

(also agree w/ the others that that flapped chest pocket is just not on. looks like it belongs on the wing of a 747 -- not a human being.)

You are right Doc - Im trying to force myself to have it fit. With a tweed underneath it would be pretty impossible to get on. Let me see what the tailor says, and if they can make magic happen, if not - B&S here we come.

Like most of the comments, it's the wrong size.
It's an elegant coat, but even a fitted coat should
have a certain " flow" as it moves with you. This
won't. It will cling. It's an overcoat, not a wetsuit.

Spoo, you forgot the "donate to NYR because its his size" option in the poal.

I'd pass man, unless your tailor can do something it just looks too uncomfortable. 10 pound sausage in a 5 pound bag, as we like to say about some of the Bensonhurst queens.

I voted sell, but if there's an inch+ of chest to let out I think it may be fine. Good luck at the tailor!

I like it but HATE the flap chest pocket. Keep it!
