New Need Navy Suit

Hey guys, I bought a navy suit from Spier And Mackay a couple years back. Unfortunately I ripped the pants recently and I need a new suit. As it was my only navy and it was my go to for interviews, my new one would need to also function for that too. Given that I work in finance, do you guys think it would be okay to get a suit with a pattern? Or should I play it safe and get another plain navy one?

I was looking at these:

https://www.indochino.com/product/carnforth-micro-check-navy-suit

https://www.indochino.com/product/carnforth-check-navy-suit

https://www.indochino.com/product/bottsford-check-blue-suit

Or should I go a safer route like:

https://www.indochino.com/product/tipton-blue-suit

https://www.indochino.com/product/telford-navy-suit

https://www.indochino.com/product/hemsworth-navy-suit

Thanks!

Thanks! Don't suppose you've bought from Indochino before?

I have and have no plans of ever purchasing from them again. Just stick with Spier and Mackay.

Really? Whys that? I always hear about them and I've bought a lot of stuff from Spier and Mackay. Thought I'd give them a try for the price.

Spier and Mackay is in a different class above Indochino.

Stick with a staple solid navy suit.

Not that I'm not happy with the quality of Spier and Mackay, but what's wrong with Indochino?

Quality of materials and quality of make are both below SM. Quality of fit on an MTM project with Indochino is significantly less likely to be successful than purchasing your correct size from SM.

To add to Patrick's comments, which are consistent with my experiences with Indochino, I also just found the tailoring to be pretty clunky/clumsy (ie, base model that's used for their suits). Combine that with the inferior quality, hassle of dealing with remakes etc... it's not worth throwing my time and money away for that.

Thirded. All the stuff I got from Indochino was junk. I'm a full Spier and mackay convert now.
