So I was in RL today and they had a pair of brown shell cordovan chukka boots that I had not seen before. They had a double leather sole with toe stitching that looked like that found on the C&J Onslow, but I believe that the heel was not similarly stitched.

I forget what the name was, but it was definitely not the MacCallum. They were $995.

Has anyone else seen these? I hope they're new and that it's a sign that there's at least some activity remaining between RL and C&J.

Couldn't find it on any web site I have selling C&J shoes...I'd E-mail C&J directly to find out what it's called and what the more reasonable price is. American shops are selling English shoes and boots for WAY to much money!

It wouldn't be on any C&J website, is a boot that Ralph Lauren has Crockett and Jones make for them so it's only available through Ralph Lauren. I was just wondering if anyone else had any idea as to whether there would be other C&J for RL shoes coming out or if it was just the shell cordovan that they're continuing through C&J. Either way, I'm please that they're still doing something - even if the price is a bit steep at retail. Assuming they're included in the fall Private Sale, they'll be available for about 1/2 price. $500 isn't a terrible price for a cigar-colored shell boot.

Were the boots split toe?

The new shell chukka is the Gifford. It's not split toe, but it looks great and is very comfortable.

I had planned to purchase the McCallum for f/w but assumed the Gifford was the replacement when I saw it in the store. I haven't worn the Gifford yet but look forward to doing so, soon.

Request a copy of the Fall 2009 "PRL Handbook" which features a full page photo of the $1100 "Garren" George strap boot on page 10, style #815103327. Not on the webzite?

Giffords are marked down to $599 now.
Friends & Family is good for another 25%.
Las Vegas store has 10 and 10.5 for sure.
The 10.5 had my sweaty foot in it briefly.
I got the 11. These seem to fit a bit smaller than Darltons.

Is this that a regional price or all RL stores? Is the Shell PTB and Wingtip also marked down?

Are these the ones you are talking about?

This is what I have - but in suede, with a ridgeway sole.

Looks like the same model. Very nice shoes, btw. When/where did you get those?
