We are a brand new clothing line from Japan launching in the United States this month. I would really appreciate everyone's feedback on the line. For more information please visit the temporary website http://www.shigotofashion.com

About the Collection: Our collection consists of men's pants, shoes and accessories that reflect the traditional designs of the apparel worn by modern-day Japanese construction workers as well as the progress in design today. The collection is edgy, versatile and exclusive: you will not find these looks in the market elsewhere. In the near future, the collection will expand to include an exclusive line of T-shirts as well as a collection for women.

So you are saying construction workers in Japan today wear bellbottom pants and split-toesie high tops?

In Japan there is a big following with these types of shoes. They are what traditional construction workers wear. When you see people working in very high up scaffolding in Japan, you see it now.

There are several companies like Sou-Sou which have really added a new hip factor to these type of shoes.

The MC hammer pants are a different story and I cannot comment. I imagine Nantucket Red of some other Tokyo person can probably comment in better way.

So where can I see the products you are making in Tokyo area?

Yes, but the pants are not usually that full (they are also typically a pale green).

My cousin does construction and I've helped out few times when I was in high school and went back to Japan during the summer break, while I agree that the pants and tabi are both comfortable and good for their intended use. I don't think I would wear it on normal days.

Work fashion eh. I dont think this will do too well here. Especially since even in Japan, the construction worker fashion is old hat.

NEXT LEVEL!

You'll all be changing your tune when "Shigoto Woolen Mills" drops.

Seriously though, I like the idea, but the insane fullness of those pants will make them almost impossible for most shops to sell.
