new member, looking for ideas for father's day..

Hey everyone.

I'm looking for any suggestions for Father's Day. Yes, I know, I'm a bit late to do so. Anyway, I was specifically looking for recommendations for very basic light, comfortable dress shirts. My father's pretty conservative/traditional. Not looking to spend over $150 though. I'll be making a trip to NYC later this week so any store recs or even online recs would be great.

Welcome. Why worry about picking a pattern and not having it fit? You might try a custom fit shirt instead. As a hard to fit person, I love them. I think CEGO would fit your price range and they have gift certificates. There are a couple of other shirt makers such as Jantzen. I'm not a New Yorker, so some of the other members may be able to provide more advice. There may also be other shirt makers you want to look at, but that's the first one that popped in to my head. Good luck and I hope your dad likes whatever you decide to pick out for him.

Joseph A Bank's website has their shirts on sale. I've bought three (2 white (herringbone and twill) and 1 yellow (dobby twill)). Each about $60. Very nice shirts. Also, TM Lewin has a sale now till 7-31. With shipping I got a nice one (white twill) for about $100. Only thing is that theirs are mostly french cuffs.
