I searched around, and the casual "blazer + jeans" look is really cool in my opinion and I want to try that. It may make me look better than everybody else at college but not so tryhard (although I haven't seen anybody else wear blazers at school).

I really like this look and this one.

My question is, I read a topic from 2013 on metafilter that a solid color tee (does that include v necks?) are out and that dress shirts are better now with blazers. I don't know what's in or out, but what should I buy?

I am looking at:
- a black or navy blazer (slim fit?)
- a gray v neck
- black oxford shoes
- black belt
- dark blue or black washed jeans

first fit is bad and second one does not wear jeans.

still you might want to check out SLP for some inspiration and try to actually know what you want to accomplish before furiously buying clothes.
