New SF member and not sure where to find the answer you're looking for? Have a quick question that doesn't belong in a current thread? Welcome, you found the right place.

This is a weekly thread where new users can ask quick questions and get a solid answer. If a thread already exists that would be more helpful, we will point you in the right direction. The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.....so ask away!

    Two questions:

    1. What the fuck is Frankenstitching?

    2. Why does the site now proclaim that I am a "renowned expert?"

"Frankenstitch" (as far as I know, a term coined at this forum here) indicates a reversed hand-stitch (executed from the underside) which just shows a row of dimples. Like the stiches on Frankenstein's monster where the various parts are stitched together.

    Example: GazianoGirling style "Antibes"

You've got enough thumbs-up votes ("reputations"), to qualify for this level.

Thanks. Both make sense, although in the second case I'd present heavy argument. As I recall, you are (at least closer to) an expert on a subject related to the forum than I am.

That would be more believable, though, were such a title bestowed, I'd consider it dubious as well. However, "on your way" is hard to argue with since just about everything is "on the way."

Welcome to the forum @fuye . Not sure about consignment store options in Boston, but maybe ask the guys in the thrift thread http://www.styleforum.net/t/480919/...-return-to-the-thunderdome/27270#post_8282140. Here is a good place to start for some overall advice http://www.styleforum.net/atype/5/Styleforum_101. Best of luck.
