1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

A rare opportunity to purchase an unworn pair of shoes by Georg Materna of Vienna. They are beautiful, as I hope the photos show. They are in brown box calf, and come with their dustbags, but not their original boxes.

They seem to have been in storage for quite a while, but unlike the other pair I have do not seem to be creased as a result. However, they are missing padded heelbeds. I would assume that a decent cobbler could put some in without too much expense.

When a load of NOS from this maker were sold in 2010, the price for box calf was 790 Euros (£665). That seller was better-know around here than me and probably accepted returns, so my price will be £450. That will include fully-insured shipping worldwide.

Since I cannot accept returns, do check the measurements below. If it would be convenient for anybody, they would be welcome to come around to my house (south London, zone 2) to try them on.

Length along bottom of sole, with tape-measure held taut: 28.5cm
Width of sole at widest point: 10cm
Width of insole at mid-heel: 6.75cm

"5" is a very narrow width, correct?
