I hate to be the one to ask this (especially bc the odds are low that I'll end up pulling the trigger) -- but how do these fit? I would be comparing them to the AS Peals from Brooks, Tod's, Gucci horsebits, etc. Great looking shoes by the way.

It really depends on the last but I have found that some fit a tad large but nothing that would cause you to size down an entire size. Perhaps size down on half depending on the last. Someone more qualified then myself my be able to answer based on the last number.
