New Loro Piana Vest - What to pair with?

I originally posted this in the MC forum but it was probably in the wrong spot since this is more of a casual items - a loro piana vest w/ a removable hood.

Now I'm asking myself...what to wear this with? I don't normally wear vests, in fact this is the only vest I own.

Suggestions for pants, shirts, colors of garments, etc?

Dark blue jeans with a chambray shirt comes to mind. Would wear without the hood though.

A shirt with a relatively dramatic gusset/long tail, like Engineered Garments, I'd say. Keeping the vest a couple inches unzipped on the bottom.

Whats a chambray shirt? Never planned to use it much with the hood

Chambray shirt is a blue jean shirt...could be either faded or dark blue like the jeans.

Hmm...not so sure about that. Something about a jean shirt just feels too plebeian
