Does anyone know if N&L shirts usually have some sort of plastic collar stay embedded into the collar? The reason I ask is that for the first time, I am doing some shirt laundry myself, and I noticed that my N&L shirts have what feels like plastic collar stays permanently sewn in. That is, there is a place for insertable collar stays, like any other shirt, but beneath that appears to be these embedded ones. Weird. I've never noticed because I usually have my laundry done. I've tried poking around, but don't want to harm the collar, which it looks like I'd have to do to attempt to get these stays out. I called my cleaners (which charges about $6 each dress shirt, thinking they had inserted these stays, but they said that they haven't done so).
