Not sure why you came here to ask this but in your case it is surely your skills as a pianist that maketh you?

The piano does maketh who I am. I live to play and not play to live.

Thus, I wonder how the old saying of 'the clothes makes the man' falls into with those who are more fashion educated and sophisticated.

The man who makes the clothes is sometimes a tailor, or perhaps someone else involved in apparel manufacturing.
