Handmade Shell Cordovan Strap​

Made by hand in Minneapolis, these shell cordovan watch straps by Guarded Goods feature a one-piece,
slip-through design compatible with most watches. Hand-stitched with waxed thread for added durability,
they’re also sanded, beveled, and burnished with beeswax by hand.
This band measures 7/8" equal to 22 millimeters. They’re finished with stainless steel nickel hardware, which features square edges.
The shell cordovan leather hails from one of five tanneries around the world:
Rocado SRL, in Italy; Clayton, in England; Shinki Hikaku, in Japan; or Horween, in the United States.
Shell cordovan begins with the fibrous flat muscle, or shell, of a horse’s hide. Over the course of 6 months, it’s tanned, stuffed, shaved, and polished.
Regarded as one of the most durable forms of leather, it’s also sought after for its unique hand-finished color treatment.
