I've been lurking here for a few weeks and this is a great forum. Although I have to say it's going to be a little intimidating posting here at first. I have my wedding coming up in May. I'm going to be getting married on the beach in Mexico. I already have my suit. A tan two button linen suit but I keep going round and round about the shoes and the shirt and tie. I know i am going to have a shirt custom tailored but i'm not sure what style and i'm going back and forth on having a tie or not. Any imput from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Formality can be dictated by your bride's choice of garment and the all-around feel of the wedding. If she is going to be in a very informal dress and you are all having a bonfire afterwards, then you can go tieless. If she is wearing soemthign a bit more tailored/ formal and you area all having a formal sit-down dinner with waiters in snappy uniforms then you should wear a tie. Don't be out-dressed by the help on your wedding day.

Tie it is. What about the shoes. She will be in i nice heal during the dinner/reception but will be barefoot on the beach obviously. Should i stick with an oxford or do you think nice loafer would be appropriate alternative. Thanks for the help.
