New Glasses: what do you think of these?

i've been wearing the same black smallish rectangular glasses for the last three years and they're shot, so i need new ones. i spent an hour at the eyeglass store yesterday and most everything looked like crap on my long narrow face, but i did think the following two from Modo were better than most. i'm a little bit up there in age but in a young profession. would you pick one over the other or go back to the drawing board? i was also thinking of maybe getting both and turning the plastic frame into sunglassses or maybe using those transition lenses. anyway, without further ado:

These i'd get in gold wire:

With these i'd get the lighter color (aka blonde) but i can't find a picture of it:

Personally, I think the wires would look better in silver than gold as they would be less conspicuous, but it would depend on your coloring as to which looks best. Personally, I would choose the wires over the blond tortoise shell, as, IMO, it's just a cleaner look.
