I've decided to retire my two year-old v551. It was a solid phone, no doubt, but has been acting buggy, problems with the earpiece/speakerphone at times, etc.

I like that Samsung on the site and have been considering a similiar model, either the D600 or D807. They're cheap on ebay ($117 BIN new) and I'll problem get one by the end of the month.

Anyone here have experience with them? I have a few friends who have said nothing but good things about them.

For all you old timers out there.

Featuring:

"A soft ear cushion lets you hear every word"
"Simple 'Yes' and 'No' buttons, no confusing icons"
"Hearing aid compatible"
"Familiar dial tone when ready to call"
"Convenient, no-mistake volume control"

I think they should come out with a rotary version, and one where you just the act of opening it brings you the "operator" so that you ask him to connect your call to phone number "Seattle SF-123"

I wonder if there's a party line option.

I am probably going to pick up the Crackberry Pearl soon. It's a fairly stylish, quad-band phone, with a decent amount of usable features.

the Nokia 6126 is pretty nice, had it for a few months, solid phone, very easy to use + brilliant screen.

If money is no object, there is still the B&O Serene and they are just about to release a new cell phone too.

And then after you've said "Seattle SF-123", you then have to repeat it since the connection is so damn crappy that the operator didn't hear you in the first place.

That actually looks practical. A simple YES NO button would be so much better than all that extraneous stuff, but the technorati in me also likes the fanciness of cutting-edge technology.

Since when do you like cutting edge? You mean cutting edge in the 50's, right?
