For sale a brand new pair of driving nipple soled moccasins from Miserocchi. Got them after nearly a two-month wait, worn them an entire afternoon at home and decided they are too small for me, even if the leather will stretch a bit.

Miserocchi Shoes are the first real car shoes, the original driving moccasins (forego Della Valle Tod's and before Prada's Car Shoe): there were two brothers involved in that company and they apparently had a falling out. One brother kept the brand name, which he later sold to Prada who now makes Car Shoes in great volume by machine in Eastern Europe. The other kept the factory, where his sons – he passed away two years ago - still make driving shoes in an artisanal sort of way. These latter became well known - among those of us who follow this sort of things - when the late style icon Gianni Agnelli was photographed on several occasions wearing a pair of red ones.

Miserocchi driving shoes are totally Handmade in Italy, in fact each shoe requires two and a half hours of hard work and using only the upper leather from Tuscany. The moccasins they make are dainty, slim, short in the vamp, low profile at the toe and, most importantly, stitched by hand. This means they sensitively regulate stitch placement and tension around the front of the shoe to stop it turning up.

They are very minimal in their structure. When you put your foot in, your foot tends to define the shoe rather than the shoe defining the foot. They need to be slightly too small to work, so the foot stretches and fills the shoe out.

I own a pair of CarShoe and these are much lighter and soft, they are as comfortable as slippers.

The upper is made of a dark brown super supple calf leather. Size is 41.5 (or 7 ½) but due to the low profile toe they would better fit a 7.

Measurements as follows:
Tip to toe – 27cm
Width at the largest point – 9.5cm

They will come in the original box with shoe bag and original invoice: they cost EUR188 and I am happy to let them go for £145 (UK: free shipping; rest of the world: ask for a quote).

Get yourself the original driving moccasin without waiting

Any question is welcome. No returns.

Hey man, would you say the shoes are true to size? Could you compare the size with C&R, Church's or simliar?
