I just received a BB brochure in the mail today with a special offer for their MTM customers. Excerpts from the brochure and my questions follow below: - Made-to-Measure Dress Shirts - We also continue to offer our classic "Made-to-Measure" program, with a wide range of fabrics, models, options and the ability to achieve a more exact fit. Tailored in our own factory, our Made-to-Measure Dress Shirt program represents the ultimate in fine shirts. Question: Any info and/or experience with the BB shirt factory? - Hand-tailored Golden Fleece - When you choose a Golden Fleece hand tailored suit in our Made-to-Measure program, you'll enjoy access to over 1,500 of the world's finest fabrics, carefully selected by our own merchants and technicians. You'll have the luxury of full canvas camel hair chest pieces, linen under collars, genuine horn buttons, hand sewn buttonholes, and over 18 hours of workmanship in each individual suit. - Makers Made-to-Measure - We also offer our Makers Made-to-Measure suitings, which combine the best of old world tailoring with modern day advances. Choose your perfect fabric and customize your exact fit; you'll have your Makers Made-to-Measure suit in as little as five weeks. Question: First time I've heard of the Makers MTM program. Does BB use Martin Greenfield for Makers as well? Any idea on what "modern day advances" exactly means?

It most likely means "we use fusing."

    1. Brooks MTM is made in its factory in GA. The shirts are O.K. Rate it a C+. Stripes are matched at the shoulder. Price is good. Main complaints: a) sizing is too big; b) interlinings are too soft; c) no interlining on the French front made shirt very limp; and d) plastic buttons. I rate it below Individualized Shirts which has a better fit.

    2. My guess is that Golden Fleece is Martin Greenfield and that the Makers suit is the gimmick with the laser measuring chamber. Unless things have changed, which is unlikely, Brooks sold-off its suit making factory under the Marks & Spencer regime, and all of Brooks's suits are made by outside vendors. The Greenfield suit is its top of the line suit.

    I would check with Brooks.
