    so i like drinking most of my nespresso pods as lungos (even if they aren't) am i ruining the loosing out on taste or anything? or is it just a bit more watered down?

    Technically, yes, you're overextracting and it should become bitter. You'd be watering it down by adding hot water.
    However, 5g are too few for even a ristretto in general, so just do what tastes good to you.

    so i get a much smoother taste from the default longo and thought that i may be missing out...

    As far as I know, the "lungos" are 5g too.

    gotcha, by lungo i meant a long pull so running more water through the non-longo pod

    how much water do you pass through regular pods? ie arpeggio

    When I had a Nespresso machine, I roughly aimed for a ristretto (i.e. 30-35ml). But that didn't do the job for me either which is why I sold it.
